EMBO Workshop: Modelling infectious diseases in the cell and host 2018-01-22
The principal theme of this EMBO Workshop is to understand how to model infectious diseases and their effects in the host. This is focused at both the cellular and whole organism level, with a goal to understanding these processes and how therapeutic strategies can be informed.
A*STAR Scholarship Seminar for Undergraduate Studies - Dec 2017 2017-12-09
The seminar will introduce the A*STAR Undergraduate Scholarship (AUS), National Science Scholarship NSS(BS) and National Science Scholarship NSS(MBBS-PhD). AUS supports bright individuals with a keen interest in research for a Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering in the local universities, NTU, NUS, SMU or SUTD. The NSS(BS) supports undergraduate studies at top overseas universities in Biomedical Sciences, Physical Sciences and Engineering disciplines. The NSS(MBBS-PhD) supports an intercalated medical and PhD degree to train clinician-scientists. A*STAR’s Tech Access Initiative provides access to A*STAR’s installed base of advanced manufacturing equipment/facilities, ranging from inspection tools to advanced equipment such as robotised 3D scanners and laser powder beds for additive manufacturing. SMEs can learn, experiment and prototype with the advanced tools, thereby mitigating the high upfront cost of investment. With the experience gained, companies can opt to scale up and acquire the equipment to capture new business opportunities.
